The agency’s goal in providing these services is to create “custom made” programs that addresses the individual and/or family’s need. The services we provide are multi-ethnic based and are culturally sensitive in order to address the needs of each family with dignity and respect. It is our understanding that each family’s story and history is important and needs to be valued.
Therefore, Immigrant Family Services is a non-traditional agency that has well trained clinicians and other competent professionals from a variety of ethnicities who successfully work with families from diverse cultural backgrounds. These professionals have experience working with children, youth and families. They work with sensitivity to cultural differences of the people they work with in order to fully engage them.
Our agency provides services to families at home and in their communities so as to meet with them in their natural and familiar environment.
These services are also aimed at helping the people served develop independence and ability to maneuver the systems of care that exist in the communities where they reside. Our goal is to strengthen individuals and/or families become successful.
Immigrant Family Services also provides language translation and interpretation services in cases where clients are not proficient in the English language. Language interpretation services are available for in-home services. We also provide document translation services in many foreign languages.
